NEW BERLIN FESTIVAL

In the early 1800s, the village now known as North Canton was called New Berlin. Settled largely by German-speaking families, New Berlin grew into a busy trading center with taverns, inns, wagon-makers, blacksmiths, and general stores.


The New Berlin Festival honors that heritage as thousands gather downtown to enjoy homemade German fare,

The New Berlin Festival honors that heritage as thousands gather downtown to enjoy homemade German fare, live polka music, and seasonal beer.


Join us Saturday, Sept. 26, 2025, as we close Main Street, welcome back the Chardon Polka Band (4:00–7:00 PM) — the biggest and best polka band this side of the Tuscarawas — and raise a toast to our past. Parking available at the YMCA/Hoover District.

It wouldn’t be a New Berlin Festival without beer! This year we’re turning the Hoover Lawn into a Biergarten and bringing back our popular Beer Passport — available for pre-purchase or on festival day.
